Sock Monk-a-thon for Summer

Greetings craftivists! So many of you have been in touch to say you’d like to learn to make a monkey and donate to this important cause. The time has come, my friends. OSM’s summer sock-monk-athon will take place on Sunday June 7th at the HART HOUSE at U of T. 12- 4pm all materials & instructions provided.

Since it’s summer, we’ll be holding the event in the outdoors, in the beautiful quadrangle. The Quad is a courtyard and has a tent so if it happens to rain, we’ll be sheltered, but so far the forecast looks good.

A previous post had placed the Sock-monk-a-thon on June 6, but we’ve moved it due to the availabilty of this fantastic space.

If you’d like to join the fun, please email lindsey@operationsockmonkey.com to let me know so I’ve got enough supplies and materials for everyone.

Crafters may donate their first-born monkey to the delegate group leaving for South Africa on the 17th of June, or may choose to keep their monkey pal and donate $20 to OSM to help fund clown expeditions, an upcoming OSM residency @ Woza Moya and buy more materials and supplies.

All ages are welcome, but please note crafters under the age of 10 will require a grown-up to help. Making a sock monkey takes approx 3 hours so please arrive at 12 pm to ensure you have time to finish.

Hope to see you there!
