#Craftivism = Community
In celebration of International Women’s Day this week and in partnership with Culture Link Toronto, and the Toronto Public Library, Operatives Diana Brugos and Tracey Speedie led a sock monkey making workshop for Syrian women who have relocated to Toronto as a result of the current refugee crisis.
The workshop was held at the Lillian H. Smith Library in Toronto, giving the ladies a welcome opportunity for community building and a break from the hotel in downtown Toronto where they are waiting to be moved into permanent housing.
OSM is honoured to be collaborating with Culture Link this year to foster community building and a warm welcome for newcomers to Canada in the Greater Toronto Area.
