Crafting Hope for Texas

Our friends at Craft Hope in Austin, Texas are putting craftivism to work locally  to spread some joy to  communities devastated by wildfire this summer. Over 1,600 homes were lost due to the fires; crops devastated, livestock killed and hundreds of famillies now face winter’s arrival with nowhere to live.

Jade Sims  is the facilitator of the Craft Hope project and  is collecting sock monkeys this month to distribute to all of the children who lost their homes in the Texas wildfires.

OSM is pleased to be sending a dozen delegates on this very important mission, donated by operatives from The Purple Tree Arts Collective and Joshua Creek Public School  and individual operatives  Tamie Nystrom of Swanville, Maine, and Meghan and Wynne Reichheld of Wellandport, Ontario.

Bon voyage, monkeys, may you bring some smiles and comfort to the good people of Texas!
