Operative Profile- Diana Brugos

Diana came on the scene in late 2012. Referred to the project by Mary Breen (crafty muchacha and owner of Wise Daughters Craft Market in the Junction,) Diana literally jumped into role the of Lead Operative in Toronto, feet first! In the 5 months since she came on board she has been an absolute dynamo- raising awareness for the project, recruiting new operatives, selling OSM goodies at craft fairs, organizing sock monkey socials and overseeing production of hundreds of sock monkeys. To date, she’s wrangled OSM delegates to send on missions to West & South Africa, Nepal, and to Hurricane Sandy victims in New Jersey and is currently helping to supply delegation for a mission to Russia with Clowns Sans Frontières in June. She’s also been a dynamite workshop facilitator, teaching workshops for teens at various branches of the Toronto and Mississauga Public Libraries and executing an extremely successful Sock Polar Bear workshop at Harborufront Centre for Family Day 2013.

Diana is an artist, actor, mother and global citizen. When she’s not dedicating her time to OSM, she’s working on her budding acting career, being involved in community events in and around the Junction and  designing beautiful jewellery for her company Creations Diana. Creations Diana uses recycled materials to create gorgeous, unique pieces. Her work is featured in Toronto Boutiques  Wise Daughters, Made You Look and Maggies Farm. She’s wearing a pair of her popular recycled rubber earrings in the photo below…

OSM is absolutely blessed by the work and enthusiasm Diana brings to the project. Thank you Diana for your amazing contribution to the project!
